LG Electronics Inc. said on Tuesday that it will display World Food Day on outdoor billboards in Times Square, New York, and Piccadilly Circus, London, until next Thursday.
World Food Day (October 16) is an international observance established by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to raise awareness of global food shortages and hunger and to promote efforts to address these issues.
This campaign is part of LG Electronics’ global social contribution program, LG Hope Screen.
Through the Hope Screen program, LG Electronics has supported screening public service videos by international organizations and NGOs on its billboards in New York and London, raising awareness of issues such as environmental protection, disaster relief, and the UN General Assembly.
This year’s campaign video, produced by the FAO, focuses on "The Right to Food for a Better Life and Future."
The video shows food production and sharing in different cultures around the world, delivering the message that everyone should have access to a diverse range of nutritious and safe foods.
LG Electronics is actively working to support the right to be free from hunger worldwide, in line with its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) vision of "A Better Life for All."
Major campaigns include LG India’s "Life’s Good Nutrition Program" to address youth malnutrition, "Warmth of Happiness" (Nigeria), "Street Breakfast Donation" (Mexico), "LG Loves and Cares" (Indonesia) and "Meal Package Delivery" (Iraq).
