Uzbekistan and Malaysia Explore Opportunities to Enhance Higher Education Cooperation

Uzbekistan and Malaysia are exploring new opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in higher education, science, and innovation. A high-level delegation of Uzbekistan, including Adham Khudaykulov, Director of the Project Office of the Center for Educational Projects of Uzbekistan, and Otabek Makhkamov, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, met with Malaysian officials during a visit to Kuala Lumpur.

The discussions, supported by Uzbekistan's embassy, involved meetings with Malaysia's Minister of Higher Education, Zambry bin Abdul Kadir, and Deputy Minister, Azlinda Azman. The talks centered on deepening collaboration between the two countries, particularly in higher education and scientific innovation.

During the meetings, the Uzbek delegation presented an overview of the reforms undertaken in Uzbekistan in recent years, with a focus on advancements in higher education and science. Both sides exchanged views on promising projects with Malaysian universities, which are recognized for their global leadership in higher education.

The talks concluded with several key agreements, including plans for a visit by Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education to Uzbekistan, the formation of a consortium to foster mutually beneficial cooperation between universities, and the expansion of exchange programs for professors, teachers, and students.
